Global Employee Program
Norman Disney and Young operates in a number of different regions and our program of continual improvement is greatly enhanced by the sharing of knowledge learned in each location. This strategy is embraced in the company’s shared ownership structure, in our Research and Development committees, and in our Global Employee Program.
Organisational Culture
Our organisational culture is based on the shared belief that by sharing knowledge and experience of the best minds in our organisation and using this to establish design guides, technical advice, standard specifications, standard details and design philosophies we can provide consistent, quality service to our clients in all locations.
The mere availability of standards is not sufficient to bring this philosophy to fruition. The most fundamental ingredient is the commitment of our staff to this process.
New Offices
NDY has successfully expanded into new cities, countries and continents on a number of occasions. Our formula is simple:
- We always provide the new office with talented staff from within the organisation so that our core values and culture are part of the new office from inception.
- We employ the best staff available in the new region so that we understand local culture, market forces, and construction techniques. We look to these staff to take on management and ownership roles, both in the local office and in the global organisation.
- Where we can add value by introducing new ideas to the region, we do so.
- We actively look for good ideas in the new region and for potential adaptation to our existing offices.
Established Offices
We provide excellent opportunities for our staff to develop by providing them with the opportunity to work in various locations. Staff develop more quickly by being exposed to these new experiences and this enriches both them and the organisation.
Our Global Employee program encourages our staff to make application for relocation at any time, and the company actively tries to accommodate all requests. When news opportunities arise, we look to promotion from within the organisation.
The majority of our directors and managers have in fact been part of our global employee program and in doing so contributed to the growth of the firm as they enhanced their skills.
