NDY staffer becomes first female in Australia to achieve SCEC endorsement

Norman Disney & Young (NDY) has added another first to its list of accolades, having the first female in Australia to achieve Security Construction Equipment Committee (SCEC) endorsement.
Melbourne based Security Services Consultant Roshan John recently achieved this high level security clearance – an endorsement requiring stringent criteria are met – unaware of her unique status.
NDY Brisbane team embarks on local Kokoda challenge

Norman Disney & Young (NDY) Brisbane had four teams participate in the 2011 Kokoda Challenge on Saturday 16th & Sunday 17th of July, 2011.
The Kokoda challenge is an annual charity event that raises money to identify young Australians who are at a crossroad and support them through a 14 month community counsel – The Kokoda Challenge Youth Program. The Kokoda Challenge Youth Program culminates in the participants using the skills and training gained, to undertake the challenge of walking the Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea.
A team of NDY riders are using pedal power to raise money for the invaluable work of MS Australia in the 2011 Gong Ride on Sunday 6 November 2011.
Rising early most mornings to train, the NDY team are gearing up to conquer the 90km course from Sydney to Wollongong for the second year running. Team members will fly from Perth, the USA and Melbourne to join the race - all in the name of a very good cause.
NDY welcomes new ESD Manager with International experience

Mark Barrie joins the NDY Melbourne office to head up the eleven strong Environmentally Sustainable Design (ESD) team.
Offering an integrated approach to ESD across our core services, this dedicated team is responsible for delivering environmentally friendly outcomes, through its focus on energy conservation, management and optimisation. Mark has worked predominantly in the UK and Europe, and has a degree in engineering and in environmental science.
Following a two year secondment which saw him successfully head up NDY’s MPlus team in London, Tony McDermott is back home with the Melbourne MPlus team. The specialist team focuses on existing buildings to establish the condition of existing services, and to provide advice for the improvement of plant operation (both energy and water) and plant replacement scheduling.
Norman Disney & Young’s (NDY) highly regarded industry reputation for strong and stable leadership has been enhanced at its recent shareholder’s meeting with the promotion of Directors to strategic positions.
Overall responsibility for operational aspects of NDY remains with CEO, Ian Hopkins, with regional and market directors continuing to report to Mr Hopkins.
While he may not be calling it retirement, after 33 years at leading engineering consultancy Norman Disney & Young (NDY), Ashak Nathwani is looking forward to the next great challenges in his life. Greg is a welcome addition to the NDY team, bringing over 10 yrs experience using AutoCAD to an advanced level for engineering Consultants & Contractors in New Zealand, the United Kingdom & Canada.
