Robert Blackwood Hall, Melbourne, Australia

Client: Monash University

About the project:

It is fitting that one of Melbourne’s most prestigious performing arts venues outside the CBD, Robert Blackwood Hall at Monash University, is in the limelight.

Ageing lighting within the building (approximately 40 years old) was becoming more difficult to maintain, with increasing failure rates and difficulty in sourcing replacement parts.

NDYLIGHT was engaged to develop the Architectural Lighting design to achieve a complete replacement of existing lighting in public areas with LED lighting, and full-range dimming LED lighting within the auditorium area.

The final agreed solution included RGBW LED lighting for the auditorium, and new lighting for the various artworks in the foyer – an outcome that will have this 1970’s venue back up in the lights.
