About the project

Stratford City was redeveloped to meet increased retail, commercial and residential demand as a result of the 2012 London Olympics. It is now a major destination for both residential and commercial purposes.

The redevelopment included new shopping areas of approximately 1.4 million square feet. The works include new retail centres, offices, hotels, residential areas and large open public spaces with squares and covered street areas, dynamic façades and links to three public interchanges.

NDYLIGHT developed the lighting strategy for the project. This includes the design of lighting throughout the development including extensive public realm areas as well as the commercial and leisure elements. The process involved liaising with artists to create imaginative and unique solutions.
