Steve Brown

DIRECTOR, NDYLIGHT

Steve has spent the past thirty years honing his skills in the lighting design field. He fell into lighting at a young age after deciding not to pursue an earlier dream of becoming an architect. He occasionally wonders at what that alternative career path might have led to… probably back to lighting.

When not listening to XTC or Frank Zappa, he has a second career as a writer and historian, with three books either published or about to be. All of this tends to be crammed between his activities as a Board member of the IALD, and sometime presenter at conferences.

Nicholas Burnham

DESIGN PRINCIPAL – SENIOR ASSOCIATE

Nick likes long walks in the park, the colour tangerine and running in slow-motion along the beach, ideally to a Kenny G soundtrack. One of his aims in life is to save the dolphins.

He is looking for a long-term relationship with a light fitting he can respect and respects him. It must be full of energy, be of radiant personality and generally be bright. Dull, dim, light fittings need not apply.

Sharbel Dammo

ASSOCIATE, LIGHTING DESIGNER

Sharbel thinks of light the way he thinks about coffee, it can be bold, delicate, striking, smooth and when done badly, bitter.

His fascination with light was sparked during his studies, the realisation that light can evoke emotion and change a person’s perception of a space was intriguing.

Sharbel likes to spend his spare time with his family, watching the formula 1, wondering when TOOL will be releasing their new album and café hopping, tasting some of the best the coffee capital of the world has to offer.

She is a people person. Her people first approach is true in life as it in design, for to truly appreciate the power of light, Danah knows you first need to appreciate how light can make people feel.
